Three major international outdoor competitions under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS) were held in Moscow on Vorobyovy Gory in early 2009:
– On January 02, 2009, immediately after the meeting New Year, the first parallel slalom competition in this format took place within the World Cup stage.
– On February 14, 2009, on Valentine’s Day, the final stage of the Freestyle / Ski Acrobatics World Cup was held.
– On March 07, 2009, on the eve of International Women’s Day, the World Cup final in snowboarding was held in the most popular discipline – Big Air.
On February 9, 2008, on the Vorob’yovy Gory (Sparrow Hills), for the second year in a row, the stage of NOKIA Snowboard World Cup was held in the most spectacular competition – Big Air. And on March 01 was held the stage of the World Cup in ski freestyle (ski acrobatics). It was for the first time not in a famous mountainous place, but in the city of a megalopolis.
On February 10, in Moscow on Vorob’yevy gory (Sparrow Hills) was the NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup 2007 by the Big Air competition. This sport show brought together the strongest athletes – winners and prize-winners of the Olympic Games, world and European champions. The unique temporary Ramp (tramplin) for the competition was specifically installed JSA Stage Company on the area near main building of the Moscow University.
On March, 4 2006 – for the first time the stage of Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup was held in Saint Petersburg. More than 100 athletes from 17 countries took part in Big Air competitions. Especially for these competitions JSA Stage Company installed slide-ramp 30 meters high and 100 meters long on an open area near the Kirov Stadium. Such a structure was built for the first time in the city on the Neva. This was due to the good material base (Layher warehouse) of JSA and the experience gained at two previous events in 2002 and 2005 in Moscow. JSA was the only company at the time who could cope with such a task.
