In the fall of 2009, a large pavilion structure was installed on Prospekt Mira in Moscow. For several months, it was used for restoration work on the famous Soviet-era monument, “Worker and Kolkhoz Woman” (sculptor Vera Mukhina). JSA took an active part in the implementation of this interesting project. The company’s specialists proposed a concept for installing a temporary pavilion to carry out work in a space closed to weather conditions, which was happily accepted by the contractor and approved by the Moscow City Hall.
JSA provided the basic Layher kit to start the installation work, assisted the construction company in engineering, and also supplied the missing Layher equipment for the complete installation of the entire structure. This design of a giant temporary structure consisted of three universal systems: the main frame – Layher Allround Scaffolding, the roof covering – Layher Cassette Roof and protective wall panels – Layher Protect System. Thanks to the use of two types of panels – with a steel sheet and transparent plastic, the installed building near the All-Russian Exhibition Complex (VDNKh) had a beautiful modern look in the high-tech style. The dimensions of the structure along the perimeter were: width – 36 m, length – 60 m. As for the height of the walls: one part was 21 m, and the second part – 27 m, the total height of the building was about 33 m. Inside the pavilion, under the roof, two cranes could work, which lifted multi-ton parts of the monument. The restoration work on the monument and preparation for installation on a new pedestal lasted several months.
Eleven years ago, in the fall of 1998, the JSA company took part in an original campaign to attract the attention of the public and city authorities to the critical state of the “Worker and Kolkhoz Woman” monument. For this three-day event, the Monolith company, which was engaged in the sale of work clothes, “dressed” the worker and the kolkhoz woman in colorful clothes. Thus, the monument of the Soviet era, which has already become a recognizable symbol of Moscow, received a “second life”.
“JSA is proud to have taken part in preserving the monument “Worker and Kolkhoz Woman” from the initial “color dressing” action more than ten years ago to the global restoration work this year. These are important moments for the company. Since, in both cases, scaffolding systems from the Layher plant (Germany) were used, the exclusive representative of which in Russia JSA has been since 1999″ – this is how Alexander Strizhak, General Director of the stage company JSA, commented on this construction project.
JSA has extensive experience in installing temporary pavilion structures based on the use of Layher universal systems. Below, you can see examples of such projects carried out by the company in different years.
