A block of four shows by the legend of world rave music The Prodigy was held in the fall of 2009: in Riga, Latvia (Skonto Sport Halle) 03.10.2009, in Kyiv, Ukraine (International Exhibition Center) 07.10.2009, in Russia, Moscow (Crocus Expo Hall – 09.10.2009) and St. Petersburg (Ice Arena – 11.10.2009). It was a separate block within the band’s big world tour in support of the album – Invaders Must Die.

On July 18, 2008, Metallica performed in St. Petersburg as part of their World Magnetic Tour. That was the first and long-awaited visit of the famous metal rockers to the big city on the Neva river. About 20 thousand spectators attended the show of their favorite band. The concert was at the Sports and Concert Complex – Peterburgsky. This unique building doesn’t exist today (it was destroyed in 2019-20).

On June 21, 2008, a grandiose event “Scarlet Sails”(Alye Parusa) took place on Palace Square in St. Petersburg. That was a city holiday for graduates of educational institutions. This large-scale event was held for the fourth time and has already become popular and significant not only in the city on Neva but also for the whole country.

On June 06, 2006, Roger Waters gave his first show on the Palace Square (Dvortsovaya sq.) in Sankt-Petersburg (a capacity of about 35,000 spectators). Roger Waters performed a famous program – “The Dark Side of the Moon”. Also, he sang other legendary hits from the time of Pink Floyd and his solo albums. This show was held as part of the cultural program of the Economic Forum.

On June 13, 2006, the first “Stop Counterfeit” Festival in support of the musicians’ copyright was held in Kirovsky Stadium in St. Petersburg. The event was the cultural part of the XXXII Summit G8 / meeting of the heads of state and government, which took place in the Konstantinovsky Palace in Strelna near St. Petersburg from July 15 to 17, 2006.
