ROCK MUSIC FESTIVAL “WINGS” AND TERRORIST ATTACK IN TUSHINO

The fourth festival Wings (Kryl’ya) was held in Moscow at the airfield in Tushino on July 5, 2003.

The members were popular Russian rock bands. During the day, there were approximately 60,000 spectators.

A tragic moment:

During the festival, near the border of the territory of the airfield, a terrorist act occurred (it happened under strange circumstances and still does not have all the answers).

Blown-up suicide bombers moved from the subway station in the direction of the festival box office near the main entrance. The blast killed 15 people and many were injured.

To avoid a panic and possible crush of people, the festival organizers did not stop the concert. And many viewers learned about the explosion only after the show from the news.
