The annual Rockstadt Extreme Festival took place in Romania from the 2nd to the 6th of August 2023. This popular event for fans of hard rock takes place annually at the foot of the Rasnov fortress in the Carpathian Mountains, which is located 30 minutes by car from the large city of Brașov. Traditionally, the original design of the main stage of the festival has been installed. It has an already recognizable design with wings and consists of two stage areas under one roof. Technical support for this project was provided by SENS MUSIC. JSA provided a large Layher Allround Scaffolding kit for the festival’s constructions. Innovative Layher TwixBeam power beams were used to better suspend the sound speakers in the stage structure.
This was another use of the Layher TwixBeam this festival season. What allowed us to create new opportunities for the pre-rigging system in this project. The aluminum composite H-beam can withstand heavy loads. Therefore, there was no need to install a special console structure, since TwixBeam allows you to extend it from the front of the stage by more than one and a half meters. This made installation work easier, made it possible to hang a large sound array (about two tons for each beam extension) and simplified the situation with installing a banner for stage design.
In addition, a 6.60-meter long TwixBeam was used in the structure of the back wall of the stage to create a six-meter wide passage in the center for convenient and quick entry of sound equipment, large scenery, podiums, and much more onto the stage platforms. This was important for the speed of changing equipment for performing musicians on two stages. At the same time, the structure of the stage remained strong and reliable.
As a result of the work in this project, TwixBeams received approval from specialists from SENS MUSIC, and JSA received gratitude for promoting new technologies.
LOW WEIGHT, EASY DISMANTLING, AND HIGH STRENGTH
The Aluminium TwixBeam is a multifunctional system solution, with possible uses from support beams, suspended scaffolding, or projection structures, to wide-span work platforms and use as a system main beam. So the TwixBeam is a multifunctional aluminum beam not only for scaffolding and shoring construction but also a great product for use in the live music industry and entertainment events (staging and rigging).
