On May 25, 2024, at the main national stadium of Romania, Arena Națională in Bucharest, a football show took place – the farewell match “Golden Generation vs. Legends of the World” (Generația de Aur vs Legendele Lumii). The spectator stands with a capacity of 55,000 were completely filled with football fans and admirers of star players. JSA provided and installed special stage structures for the entertainment and ceremonial parts of the event.
The original design of the transformer stage and the engineering development of the platform structure were created by our partner Adrian Vișenoiu. The Salt Box Studio agency managed the technical production of the event. Since there was little time before the event, it was decided not to manufacture special structures, but to install all structures based on universal and quickly available Layher systems.
PLATFORMĂ MODULARĂ DE SCENE – UN JUCĂTOR NEOBIȘNUIT PE TERENUL DE FOTBAL
A special feature of the installation of stage structures was the time factor. The stage and musical equipment had to be removed in 15 minutes before the start of the match, and a platform for awarding the winners should be installed in 5-7 minutes after the end of the game. At the same time, it was important to preserve the surface of the playing field from damage while the platforms were moving. To accomplish these tasks, the basic concept was the stage’s modularity, and the separate parts’ supports were installed on special “soft” wheels. There were used aluminum Layher TwixBeam in their structure for better mobility of the staircase blocks.
In addition, an interesting engineering solution by Adrian Vișenoiu was a special elevator inside the central stage module, which was assembled from standard aluminum trusses and chain hoists. With the help of this mechanism, during the show, the singer Loredana Groza was effectively raised to the surface of the stage to perform the main song of the opening ceremony of the football competition.

A unique sports show, including an exciting match of star teams, was broadcast live on many Romanian television and Internet channels.
Veterans and national heroes of Romanian football won with a score of 3:2. The unusual event provided fans with a new chance to see such legends as Dan Petrescu, Ghika Popescu, Ghika Hadji, Dida and Hristo Stoichkov. At the end of the event, the winners came out onto the platform and, in a splash of champagne and sparkles of special effects, received an enthusiastic ovation from the grateful audience for the positive emotions from their game.
