From April 20 to 23, 2005, in the resort of Belek near the town Antalya (Turkey) a corporate festival was held – SOFTSWISS GROUP YOUNG FEST. The events took place in the area of two hotels with large territories. About two and a half thousand guests from 30 countries arrived for active recreation. The organizers had a large production team of administrators, animators, service personnel, decorators and technical contractors. The JSA company installed all the necessary stages and other temporary structures for holding the anniversary festival, which was held under the slogan “We Are Already (still) 15!”
In order not to disturb the hotel guests who were there before the festival, to rest and move freely around the territory, all the main unloading and installation works had to be done at night. The logistics of production were quite complicated: there were long distances from the unloading place to the installation sites. In addition, the structures for the main stage had to be delivered on a small truck over a pedestrian bridge across the river to a field near the seashore. Therefore, the main installation of the structures took three days and additional structures were installed on the fourth day.
The main stage was set up on a green grassy field between the river bank and the Mediterranean coast. A palm grove separated the site from the sea beach. And the backstage of the main stage of the festival was also located among palm trees, which were a good decoration behind the back wall of the stage. The weather here is usually not rainy and that’s why the stage design was designed without a roof. However, in case of rainy weather, it was possible to install a special canopy made of aluminum trusses with a transparent awning. The design was specially developed by JSA engineers on the instructions of the festival’s production management. The main idea was to try to block the view of the screens for the audience as little as possible. Fortunately for the organizers and the audience, JSA did not have to use this canopy design. The weather was sunny and nice.
Additionally, JSA installed a stage platform and sound towers for events that took place during the day and evening hours near the main building of one of the hotels in the pool area.
JSA also installed a stage podium for events in the hotel’s summer café rotunda, where training sessions and discussions with festival participants were held.
One of the important aspects of the festival was to “connect” the territories of the two hotels into one single space. The thing was that they were separated along the entire length of the border by a fence about 2.5 meters high. To do this, the JSA company installed two pedestrian bridges with flights of stairs in convenient places above the fence. Thus, participants, guests and service personnel could easily and quickly go back and forth between the territories of the two hotels. According to the organizers’ idea, one of the bridges had additional structures of descents in both directions. At the bottom of which the animators placed inflatable “pools” with multi-colored balls. Thus, a fun “slide” attraction was created, which was eagerly used by the festival participants in a positive mood.
During all the days of the festival, the stage was used for various events. During the daytime, competitions and trainings were held there, and in the evening, DJs performed, corporate performances and concerts of popular musicians took place. All this took place in the style of a big party next to the sea beach.
One evening, the festival stage by JSA was headlined by the punk-pop-rave band Little Big. Frontman Ilya Prusikin and vocalist Sofya Tayurskaya “lit up” the crowd by performing the band’s hits and created an energetic dance atmosphere for the audience on the field.
The final show of the festival featured the musical group “Shura Bi-2” together with its female band, including backing vocalist Daria Chebotareva and a live line-up of a rhythm section, guitarist, keyboardist and saxophonist. The audience warmly and gratefully greeted the interesting line-up of musicians singing famous songs of the rock group BI-2 with an original soloist.
SOFTSWISS Young Fest: Uniting a Global Team in a Hybrid World
To end the festival in a quiet and friendly atmosphere on the last evening, a “bonfire” area was set up right on the beach, right next to the waves of the Mediterranean Sea. For this, JSA installed four pillars of aluminum stage trusses in the sand to mark the activity area. Between the trusses, decorators strung wires with garlands of lights. And a small podium was set up for the artists to perform with acoustic guitars.
This was another project involving staging from JSA for a corporate festival in the resort city of Antalya (Turkey). Information about the previous event can be found here: “TRIANGULAR” STAGE ON THE SEA BEACH FOR A CORPORATE FESTIVAL IN TURKEY
