On February 10, in Moscow on Vorob’yevy gory (Sparrow Hills) was the NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup 2007 by the Big Air competition. This sport show brought together the strongest athletes – winners and prize-winners of the Olympic Games, world and European champions. The unique temporary Ramp (tramplin) for the competition was specifically installed JSA Stage Company on the area near main building of the Moscow University.
The giant design of the “Steel Mountain” with height of 30 m and a length of about 100 meters was designed by JSA engineers for this place, taking into account the peculiarities of the landscape and rules for Big Air from FIS. The construction of the slide ramp (tramplin) was mounted from the universal and reliable metal structures of Layher Allround System (Germany). A springboard weighing more than 250 tons was built only for the duration of this event and thereafter it was dismantled.
JSA was fully responsible for the technical support of the event venue and, in addition to the springboard, installed six towers with a height of 35 m – near the launch pad, at the beginning of the descent zone and near the ski jumping zone. The necessary facilities for the show were also erected, including the installation of a temporary fence to enclose the territory of the event, barriers and platform for Hospitality Tent.
This unusual large-scale and bright event, accompanied by a light show, fireworks and a concert, and attracted a lot of fans this extreme sport and many common spectators.
