THREE BIG EVENTS ON ONE STEEL MOUNTAIN
SLALOM, FREESTYLE AND SNOWBOARD – 2009

Three major international outdoor competitions under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS) were held in Moscow on Vorobyovy Gory in early 2009:
– On January 02, 2009, immediately after the meeting New Year, the first parallel slalom competition in this format took place within the World Cup stage.
– On February 14, 2009, on Valentine’s Day, the final stage of the Freestyle / Ski Acrobatics World Cup was held.
– On March 07, 2009, on the eve of International Women’s Day, the World Cup final in snowboarding was held in the most popular discipline – Big Air.

IFSC CLIMBING WORLDCUP 2008
GOSTINY DVOR, MOSCOW, RUSSIA

In Moscow, from October, 31 till November, 2 Climbing World Cup 2008 (Bouldering and Speed competitions) took place in Gostiny Dvor (about 100 meters from Red Square ) within the frame of the most attended Russian sport exhibition “Ski & Board salon”. Especially for this competitions JSA installed climbing walls (height from 4,5 to 14 meters) on “amphitheatre” area of Gostiny Dvor.

METALLICA SHOW IN ARENA PETERBURGSKY
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SAINT PETERSBURG

On July 18, 2008, Metallica performed in St. Petersburg as part of their World Magnetic Tour. This was the first and long-awaited visit of the famous “metal-rockers” to the big city on the Neva river. The show of your favorite group was attended by about 20 thousand spectators. The concert took place at the Sports and Concert Complex – “Peterburgsky”. Today this unique building not anymore (it was destroyed in 2019-20).
